Spring updates

To follow up on my ranting about lunches, I successfully packed my lunch 3 of the 5 days that week. On Thursday, I walked far far away from my office to Chinatown and enjoyed a burrito from California Tortilla. They're quite big so I saved half for Friday - I think that counts!
As for my updates -

It's my favorite time of year in Washington. The Cherry Blossoms have ushered in the spring season and now there is a misty lime green color adorning the trees. Tulips and daffodils and blossoms are everywhere! I LOVE IT! My mom visited for brief weekend rendezvous during the first weekend of the Cherry Blossom Festival. What a treat it was to traipse around town and chit chat all about life with my wonderful mother!

Speaking of seeing many beautiful things...
I had PRK (lasik) eye surgery a week ago! Let me tell you, AMAZING! It's life changing. I will never have to put another contact in my eye or wear glasses again (well, at least until I'm old). I threw away my contact solution the other day and am excited to wear sunglasses without having to take off my glasses. This morning, I woke up early to go running and didn't have to put on my eyes! The doctor who did it was great, so if you're in the area and thinking about doing it, let me know. (I know you shouldn't bargain shop when it comes to your eyes, but this place gives a better deal than going to India for the procedure.) You can check out their website here: http://www.i-surgeons.com/.

And, General Conference for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was last weekend. I love hearing the counsel and talks given by our living prophet. A highlight of the weekend is when all the boys go to the Priesthood session and we girls play. This time, my roommate Emily and I went to the fabric store and started a rad quilt project inspired by this quilt on the Purlbee blog.
